Gillian is an qualified Myotherapist with a strong foundation in movement and Soft Tissue Therapies. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and a Diploma in comprehensive Pilates, solidifying her expertise in both manual therapy and movement.

With 10 years of experience as a Clinical Pilates instructor, including a role as part of the Education team for Polestar Pilates Australia, Gillian possesses a deep understanding of body mechanics and movement patterns.

Prior to specializing in Myotherapy, Gillian honed her skills as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist for 4 years. This valuable experience, combined with her in-depth knowledge of Pilates, provides her with a comprehensive approach to treating the body as a whole.

Gillian’s Myotherapy treatments are tailored to individual needs and may include:

  • Clinical Assessment: Thorough evaluation to identify the root cause of pain or dysfunction.
  • Myofascial Release: Techniques to address restrictions in the connective tissues surrounding muscles.

Gillian’s passion for movement and rehabilitation has led her to work with elite athletes, including teams such as the Melbourne Storm (Rugby League), Melbourne Rebels (Rugby Union), and various Australian National Netball teams. This experience has provided her with valuable insights into the demands of high-performance athletes and the importance of optimizing functional movement.

Gillian’s ongoing professional development includes pre and postnatal massage and Pilates training and further in training in The Franklin Method Level 1.
